Bobby's story starts in early November 2008 were he was found in the paddock with a injured hind leg.
Bobby is a 17 year old Thoroughbred trained to work at liberty and he also loves to jump. He was a big part of our performance team until he was injured. On further examination it was found that Bobby had fractured his stifle and needed at least 6 months rest in a small paddock before begining his rehabilition program. While Bobby was resting his diet consisted of grass and hay to keep his energy level down.
In July 2009 Bobby was transported across Australia from WA to NSW where he was to resume work. Bobby can be a stressful horse and the journey over caused him to lose further weight resulting in an even longer road back to performance and show condition. I contacted Mitavite and asked if they could help Bobby return to his former condition. Mitavite was more then helpful with this and through speaking to one of their dietitians a new diet was formulated for Bobby that consisted of Mitavite Gumnuts, Power-On, Super Amino 66, lucerne and pasture.
Bobby has only been on the new diet for a week and already I can see the results.
I will keep updating this page from week to week to share with everyone how he is coming along and where he is up to in his training.
BOBBY'S UPDATE - October 2009
Bobby has been on the road with the Double Dan team for the past four weeks. He has been to Adelaide Royal Show and Melbourne Royal Show and since returned home.
The latest photos show how well his new diet is going and Bobby has been a different horse within himself. I am very happy with the results and I recommend to any one who is having trouble keeping or gaining weight on their horse to try Bobby's diet or contact Mitavite for a individual diet to suit your horse.
Bobby is looking forward to performing for the first time since his injury at the National Equestrian and Livestock Event in Tamworth and he hopes to see you there.
Stay tuned
Dan Steers
